Thank you to all of our wonderful grandparents that came to spend an evening with their grandkids! We had a wonderful crowd. It was so good to see grandparents playing games with the children and the children leading them around the school. A BIG thank you to all of our staff and high school students that volunteered and helped make it a success!
Rube Goldberg Team News!
Our Middle School Rube Goldberg Team competed in the Rube Goldberg contest last Saturday at Batesville High School. They had one perfect run and came a tenth of a point away from 3rd place. We are so proud of them!

Kindergarten Registration coming April 4, 2024!
Kindergarten registration for Jac-Cen-Del Elementary School will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 from 1:00-6:00 PM. All children must be five years of age on or before August 1st to attend kindergarten during the 2024-2025 school year. Parents and registering kindergarten students are requested to attend. Parents will meet with the kindergarten teachers and will also meet with the school nurse to discuss the child's immunization record and any health concerns. The transportation director will be available to discuss bus routes. You must bring your child's official birth certificate. The certificate from the hospital is not acceptable. The Ripley County Health Department will be available during the kindergarten registration to print your child's birth certificate. The cost is $25 and they will accept cash or credit. It must be a parent requesting the certificate and they will need to provide their driver's license. This will be available for any child born in Ripley County. Parents must also bring a copy of the child's immunization record. If your child needs vaccines your primary care provider, the Ripley County Health Department, Margaret Mary Occupational Health and Decatur County Hospital are some places that will be happy to assist. Your child will not be officially registered for kindergarten until an official birth certificate and an updated immunization record are on file at the school.

This Week's Menu
Principal's Corner 👇🏽
Wow, March is here! The end of the school year will be here before we know it! There are lots of things that go on this stretch of the year. We have started our testing season already with IREAD beginning on Monday. Then after spring break, we will be going into ILEARN. Classes will also begin taking field trips. When taking field trips, we will be looking at DOJO percentages. It is important to be able to make good choices when they are field trips. If they are not making good choices at school, chances are they won't make good choices on trips. Please refer to the Field trip guidelines in the student handbook.
IREAD begins Monday for 2nd and 3rd graders. Please be sure they get a good night's sleep and they are here at school. We only have this week to get the test in since we are out for Spring Break the following week.
Many of you know that our 5th grade teacher, Lisa Wallpe, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has had her surgery and they were able to remove the cancer. Her next step is chemotherapy and radiation. We are her "Warriors" and will stand strong behind her every step of the way. There will be t-shirts available to every student and/or family that is interested in purchasing one. There will be an order form sent home on Monday to purchase shirts. All proceeds from these shirts will go to the Wallpe family to offset any medical expenses. We will have special days to wear our shirts!
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Budd
